Hall of Fame
Thomas Colavito was a five-year member (78-79 Club, 80-82 Varsity) of Ramapo College’s football team, including the 1978 National Championship Team, which under the direction of Head Coach Frank Marino, compiled a 9-1 win-loss record. That season the team posted three wins and only one loss against varsity opponents, four wins and zero losses verse members of the Atlantic Conference, and one win and zero losses against club independent teams. The team combined forces to post more than 320 points during the season, averaging 32.7 per game, and the defense only gave up 93 points on the year, 9.3 per game. In 2006, Colavito was inducted into the Ramapo Hall of Fame as a member of the ‘78 roster. Colavito started every game his last three seasons with the team, and was named captain for the 1981 season. He earned NJSAC All-Conference Honors in 1981, for his efforts on the field. Colavito is a 1983 graduate of Ramapo where he earned a degree in both Life Science and Business Marketing, and has worked as a chiropractor and athletic trainer for the past 23 years in Middletown, New York. He has a daughter, Olivia, and two boys, Daniel and Ryan.
