Hall of Fame
Dr. Walter Brown is being inducted into the Hall of Fame after becoming a recognizable figure within the athletic department for many years.  Brown served as a Professor of African History and International Studies for 33 years at the College until he passed away in March of 2006.  To the Roadrunners, he served as a mentor and advocate for numerous student-athletes.  A fellow sports enthusiast, who enjoyed a leisurely game of 3 v 3 basketball for an hour each day with colleagues, would sit with students and advise each on their academics, juggling sports, school and life, and personal issues alike.  He became a staple in the Athletic Center whose open door policy in the gym served as a time for many students to unwind and take in the words of wisdom from Dr. Brown himself.  In his early years at the College, he also served as the advisor to the newly formed club lacrosse team.  Brown received his bachelors degree from CCNY where he was a standout lacrosse player.  He was later inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame.  He earned his masters and PhD from Boston University and is survived by his wife, Beverly, and their two daughters, Erika and Kara.
