Mike Cutruzzula was a three-year member of the football team here at Ramapo College.  An All-American outside linebacker, he was a member of the 1977, 1978, and 1979 championship rosters.

During his first season with the team, Ramapo was ranked #2 in the National Collegiate Football Association rankings and they finished the year winning  the Heritage Bowl.  In 1978, the Roadrunners, under the direction of Head Coach Frank Marino, compiled a 9-1 win-loss record, posting three wins and only one loss against varsity opponents, four wins and zero losses verse members of the Atlantic Conference, and one win and zero losses against club independent teams. The team combined forces to post more than 320 points during the season, averaging 32.7 per game.  Cutruzzula was a key contributor to the team’s success, including a National Championship, being named National Collegiate Football Association 2nd Team All-American for his efforts on the field. During his final season with the team, Ramapo again was ranked #2 by the National Collegiate Football Association and Cutruzzula earned Atlantic Conference All-Conference honors, as well as All-American honors.
