A member of the Hackensack High School County Champions in 1970, after a season at Bergen Community College, Peter Cafone was an outstanding baseball player for the Ramapo Roadrunners for three more seasons. From the 1973 season until he graduated in 1975 he pitched and played third base – but always preferred pitching. He won his first game against then Newark State (Kean) College by an 11-9 score and still has the game ball!

Following his career at Ramapo he continued to play. In the early 1980s he played semi-pro for the Hackensack TROAST ball club. He also played in the North NJ majors for the Hackensack Arrows with Frank Eufemia, and then for the Oakland Dodgers in same league for five more years.

What he remembers best about his time at Ramapo was building a baseball program, making friends that are still friends, and hitting two home runs against Montclair!

Peter, his wife Donna, and son Peter live in Ridgewood. He is currently employed as a Social Worker in Adult Protective Services and is proud to put his degree in Sociology to good use.
