Following a successful basketball career at Lakewood High School, John Brown came to Ramapo College to move his playing career to a higher level. While at Ramapo he was a starter in all four seasons, a 3-time co-captain and was selected to the 1991 ECAC Division III Final Four team. That same season he was also selected ECAC Player of the Year. In his career he set several school records including “most points in a single game” and “most points in a career.” Following his career at Ramapo he was invited to a tryout with the New Jersey Nets.
John went on to a successful career as a coach for varsity boys’ basketball at Henry Hudson Regional School and at Admiral Farragut Academy where his 1994 team won the Prep “A” championship. Recently he earned his Masters degree in administrative sciences from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is employed by the New Jersey Department of Labor. He and his wife Ivelisse live in Lakewood with their two children, Shantel and Antoine.
