Amin Wright was a three-year member of the men’s basketball team, who took on the role of captain during his senior season in 2004-2005. He is one of 18 players to reach the 1,000 point plateau at Ramapo, scoring 1,048 points from 2002-2005. Wright is one of few to be named NABC All-American. In his three years with the program, the Roadrunners compiled a 73-15 overall record, while collecting 40 wins in conference play, with only nine losses. The team made three straight appearances in the NJAC Championship Tournament, two showings at the NCAA Championship Tournament, and one appearance in the ECAC Championship Tournament which they won in 2003-2004. Wright was a member of the 2002-2003 team (inducted into the Hall of Fame last year) that climbed to the NCAA Elite Eight, collected the best record in the program’s history at 26-4 overall, and earned the title of NJAC Regular Season Champions going 17-1 in conference play. During his three-year collegiate career at Ramapo, Wright was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Year after his junior and senior seasons. He also received NJAC 1st Team All-Conference and NJAC Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. Wright was named NABC 1st Team All-American, while also earning D3Hoops.com 3rd Team All-American and D3Hoops.com Men’s All-Atlantic Region 1st Team honors. In his senior campaign, Wright led the Roadrunners with 482 points, averaging 16.6 per game. While at Ramapo, Wright studied business administration, before leaving the college to play professional basketball with leagues in Germany, and most recently, Switzerland.
