Ronna Killins Butters was a three-year member of the Ramapo Cross-Country and Track & Field teams, and is in the record books as a three-time All-American from the College’s track & field program. Butters was the first female athlete at Ramapo to earn All-American honors. During her senior season, Butters recorded her highest placing at nationals, placing 3rd overall at the NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships, clocking in at 2:15.04 in the 800-meter run. The mark went down as a school record, which still holds strong today. Her first All-American accomplishment was reached during her junior season, when she placed 7th overall at the Indoor Championships, crossing the finish line in 2:18.78. Butters wrapped up her collegiate career with a third All-American performance in 2003, when she placed 8th in 2:13.24. In 2002, Butters placed 2nd overall at the ECAC Indoor Championships, before placing 1st at the NJAC Indoor Championships, breaking a meet record in 2003. Throughout her collegiate career, Butters earned numerous post-season honors including team Player of the Year, 2001&2003, team Rookie of the Year, 2001, WIAC Cross Country All-Star, 2000&2001, Betty Logan Female Athlete of the Year, 2002, NJAC?Cross Country All-Conference, 2000-2002, NJAC Indoor 1st Team All-Conference, 2000-2003, and NJAC Outdoor 1st Team All-Conference, 2001-2003. Butters was also a part of the WIAC Cross Country Championship team in 2000&2001. She graduated from Ramapo in 2004 with a degree in communications, and currently resides in South River, New Jersey with her husband Dexter, and their daughter, Keila.
