Hall of Fame
DJ Pinton came to Ramapo College from Sacred Heart University in1995. He quickly made his mark in Ramapo’s history as one of the top players with the men’s soccer program. In his first year, the team reached its first ever post-season berth climbing all the way to the ECAC semi-finals. During that season he was named to the NJAC Honorable Mention team for his efforts. In his second year he guided the men’s soccer team to a 16-5-1 record and the first ever post-season championship winning the ECAC title. In that same year he received the first of his consecutive 1st Team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors and was named the 1996-1997 Ramapo College Athlete of the Year while being named a NSCAA/Umbro Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American.
In his final season, he led his team to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance and collected NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American honors on top of his all-conference and all-state honors. In his three years his team posted a combined record of 40-17-2 overall, 15-11-1 in the NJAC. It was the best cumulative record in any 3-year span of the program.
After graduating from the soccer program in 1997, DJ continued with the team as a student assistant, and then an assistant for the next five years. He took over the role of head coach in 2004 and led his team to a 12-6-1 overall record. The team headed to the NJAC post-season tournament for the second year in a row, their tenth year in a row making a post-season tournament appearance. This season his team went 14-4-3 ending their season just short in the finals of the ECAC Championship.
DJ currently serves as the director of the Cosmos Soccer Camps, continuing to teach children the game of soccer to children each summer.
