Charles Ransom, better known to the Ramapo community as Truck, was a standout basketball player during the 1999-2000 and 2001-2004 seasons. Ransom helped lead the Roadrunners to 84 wins overall and 46 in conference play. The Roadrunners made post-season play in all four seasons, including a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight in ‘02-’03. Ransom is the only player in the history of the program to score more than 2,000 points as he sits in the record books for career points (1st - 2,010), points in a season (3rd - 604, 6th - 548), career rebounds (6th - 551) and career steals (4th - 205). He also appears three times on the all-time list for most points in a game, his career-high of 39 coming in 2003 vs. George Fox.
He was also a member of the ‘02-’03 basketball team that was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2012. That season the team recorded an overall record of 26-4, going 17-1 in the NJAC. Ransom led Ramapo that season with 604 points, 169 rebounds, 66 steals and 61 assists. The Elite Eight team wrapped up the season in Wooster, Ohio with a heartbreaking loss to the host. Ransom graduated from Ramapo College in 2013 with a degree in social science and currently resides in Jersey City.
