In the early years of Ramapo athletics, a young Frank Marino took a club football program to the heights of the sport, winning a national championship. He did this by recruiting some of the best talent from New Jersey and elsewhere, selecting a fine staff of assistant coaches and shaping his team into a conference power. Building on that success, he prepared the program for entry into the New Jersey state conference.
During his first tenure as coach, the team compiled a record of 22-7-0. In addition, possibly as many as a dozen players saw tryouts with NFL teams. Perhaps his greatest accomplishments as a coach were making the football program serious and credible, and making positive impact on the lives of so many young men.
After leaving Ramapo he has had a career as a coach, administrator and athletic fundraiser at the collegiate and scholastic levels at various institutions in the NY/NJ area.
Frank’s family includes his wife Diana and sons Scott and David, as well as a new granddaughter. He, his wife and son David reside in Norwood.
