Don Vanderbeck made his mark as one of the top coaches at the College becoming the all-time winningest coach with 254 wins during the 2006 season.  He completed his 19 years at Ramapo with an impressive 402 wins.  Vanderbeck began his career in 1994 as he steered Ramapo to the EIVA Division III Championship before leading the Roadrunners to back-to-back Metro Conference Championships (eventually called NECVA) in 1995 and 1996.   For his efforts he was named Metro Conference Coach of the Year following both seasons.

During his tenure at Ramapo he won four ECAC Championships, taking his team to conference post-season tournaments for 15 of his 19 years, including the final 12.  During the 2009 season his team went undefeated in the Metro Division earning the Regular Season Champions title and following the season he was named Metro Division Coach of the Year. The group made the program’s first appearance in the Final Four tournament that same season.  In 2001 and 2006, he was named Ramapo College Coach of the Year and in 2011 he was inducted into the NECVA Hall of Fame not only for his contributions to Ramapo men’s volleyball, but also for the countless volunteer hours he put in to ensure the NECVA Conference was a success, serving on the executive board for over 15 years.

Vanderbeck continues his passion for volleyball by serving as a collegiate official for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III while he serves as the vice president of CJ Vanderbeck and Son, Inc.  He resides in River Edge with his wife Megan and their son Dylan, while their oldest son Kyle attends the University of Colorado Boulder, the same university Dylan will be attending in the Fall.
