Deena Brennan began her career as a pitcher for the Ramapo College Softball team in the Spring of 1993. As a freshman, she was named to NJAC and WIAC All-Conference teams, and received those honors in each of her four years as a Roadrunner.

As a sophomore, Deena led the NJAC in strikeouts with 100, also breaking the school record for strikeouts in a season held since 1986, by her pitching instructor and assistant coach, Patti Clark. In 1995, Deena, and catcher Nancy Remias, formed the battery for nearly every game, and together produced a new school record for season victories with 20 wins. Deena broke her own school record that year with 117 strikeouts, and was ranked 14th in the nation for Division III victories. She was named NJAIAW Woman Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and along with Remias, shared the team’s Most Valuable Player award. Deena wrapped up her collegiate career with Most Valuable Player honors for the second straight season.

During her tenure, the softball team earned the WIAC Conference Championship title in three out of the four years, and for four straight years, were crowned the NJAC B Conference Champions. Deena currently appears on the school record rankings for Most Strikeouts in a Season (3rd-117) and Pitcher Win Percentage (14th-.667).

Originally from Pompton Lakes, NJ, Deena now resides in Staten Island, NY, with her husband Michael, a New York City Firefighter, and their daughter Devin, and son Matthew. She currently works as an Executive Assistant to the Chief Accounting Officer of The Medicines Company, a pharmaceutical company based in Parsippany, NJ.
