A four-year member of the baseball team, Doug Aday, Jr. is one of the top baseball players to pass through the College’s Athletic Department. From 2002-2005, Aday led the Roadrunners to 78 wins and an appearance in the NJAC and ECAC Championship Tournaments. As a freshman, Aday hit .326 with 47 hits and 37 runs, before hitting a team leading .419 during his sophomore campaign. He led the team in hits (70), RBI (49), doubles (21), and triples (3). For his efforts, he was named 3rd Team All-Mid Atlantic Region, NJAC All-Conference Honorable Mention, and team’s Most Valuable Player. In 38 games played his junior year, he once again led the team batting .427. He posted a team leading 16 doubles and three triples, while recording 34 RBI. Aday was named team’s Most Valuable Player for the second straight season, as well as NJAC 1st Team All-Conference, NJCBA 1st Team All-State and ABCA 2nd Team All-Region. In his final season with the Roadrunners, Aday batted .355, recording 44 hits and 25 runs. He collected a team leading 12 doubles, along with a team leading 36 RBI. Aday currently holds the records for career hits and doubles, standing at #1 with 222 hits, and 62 doubles. He also stands at #2 in RBI with 150. Aday holds the record for single season doubles with 21 from the 2003 season. He graduated in 2005 with a degree in history, and works as a teacher at Ridgewood High School. He serves as an assistant baseball coach here at Ramapo, currently resides in Mahwah, and will be married in June to his fiance Casey Burdette.
