Just a large, strong, oversized, dirty lineman? Chris Dahmke is being inducted for his consistency, effort and leadership as an offensive tackle and guard, and as a team captain.

After playing at Archbishop Stepinac High School in Westchester, Chris came to Ramapo as an experienced lineman. Under coach Marino he developed as a football player, as a leader, and as a young man. There are few records of note for linemen, but Chris is proud of never having allowed a sack, and proud to have played on every play of every game in 3 seasons.

It would be all too obvious to say that the highlight of his career was beating Providence College in 1978 to win a National Championship. However, perhaps his recollection of a defining moment was not as much about what happened on the field. With the Newark Star-Ledger listing the Roadrunners as the underdog to the Pioneers of William Paterson, Chris recounted giving a pre-game locker room speech that left the entire team in tears, leading to a Ramapo victory.

As a member of the Roadrunners he was selected as a first team All-American by the National Collegiate Football Association.

After college he tried out for the NY Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. He also played some semi-pro ball but ultimately chose to go into private business.

Currently he is the CEO of Cambridge Consumer Products, Cambridge, MA. He and his wife Karen have three sons, all of whom are hockey players!
