Andrew Latincsics came to Ramapo in 1987 from Rutgers University. He immediately made an impact on the cross country course placing first in numerous meets. During an exciting 1987 season, Andrew won the NJAC 10,000-meter track title and qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships where he placed 59th overall. He was named the 1987 Ramapo College Athlete of the Year for his outstanding performances throughout the season.
On September 10th of 1988, his second season running as a Roadrunner, Andrew set a meet record (25:45) placing 1st at the King’s Cross Country Invitational, leading Ramapo to a 3rd place finish. He then placed 7th at the New Jersey College Cross Country Championships on October 8th running in 26:34, a race which Andrew thought came on one of his bad days. “Its a mark of his talent that even on a bad day he made the All-State team,” Coach Steve Grube. He led his team to a 1st place finish at the Roadrunner Invitational where he placed 2nd in 25:20 on October 29th before heading to the Cross Country National Championships for the second straight year. He placed 5th at the Division III Mid-East Regionals and moved on to place 53rd in Missouri on November 19th at the Division III finals. Throughout his running collegiate career he received honors such as All-NJAC, All-New Jersey, All-ECAC, and All-Mid East Team.
Andrew is a teacher at Morris County School of Technology where he also serves as the cross-country coach. He married to his wife Dawn and has two children, Tyler and Molly.
