Hall of Fame
A four-year member, and three-year captain of the Ramapo College men’s volleyball team, Pedro Hernandez made his mark as one of the top volleyball players in the history of the program. He is the first volleyball player to be inducted into the College’s Hall of Fame, after his accomplishments on the court during the 2000-2003 seasons. Up until the 2009 season, Hernandez held the record for most career assists at Ramapo, collecting 3,201 over his collegiate career. He now stands at #2 on the all-time leader board, while holding the #7 spot for assists in a season, with 1,011 from his freshman campaign. He also ranks #10, #13, and #15 for season assists, while standing at #6 for all-time career aces with 103. Hernandez helped lead the Roadrunners to 85 wins overall, 43 in conference play. During his career, Ramapo made four appearances in the NECVA Championship Tournament, two appearances in the ECAC Championship Tournament, and was crowned 2003 ECAC South Champions, with a 3-0 sweep over Hunter College on April 12th. Hernandez was honored with the team’s Coach’s Award in 2003, for his dedication to the program, and his sportsmanship on the court. After graduating from Ramapo in 2003 with a degree in history, he went on to study law at Penn State. Hernandez has been working as an attorney with Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, in Miami, Florida, for the past seven years, where he currently resides with his wife Maria.
