Hall of Fame
Chuck “Ace” Podgurski is being inducted into the Ramapo College Hall of Fame for his years of service to the ice hockey program as both a player and assistant coach. He was a member of the 1975-76 team where he helped lead the Roadrunners to a 29-1-3 overall record, including a 33-game win streak. After finishing the season in 1st place in the conference, the team went on to earn the Bi-State Metropolitan Intercollegiate Hockey Conference Championship, defeating Brooklyn College, 8-5, in the final match-up. Podgurski recorded 17 goals that season while chipping in 45 assists for 62 points. For his efforts on the ice, Podgurski earned BSMIHC All-Star First Team (defense) honors and was named Most Valuable Player of the playoffs. For the following two seasons, Podgurski served in a coaching role helping to guide the team to 26 wins. In 1976-77, the team finished second overall in the conference. Podgurski is married to Shelly Meade, a 1980 graduate of Ramapo College. They have three children, Janina (29), Dana (25), and Marshall (21).
