Box Score 2 Clermont, FL: The Ramapo Colleg softball team dropped a pair of games today at the NTC Spring Games, falling to 1-3 on the season.
In game one, Western Connecticut (5-3) scored two runs in the top of the first inning, on only one hit. The Colonials added three runs in the top of the third before they scored one run in the fourth to take a, 6-0 lead.
Ramapo would get two runs back in the fourth and fifth innings to come within four, 2-7.

The Colonials got one run back in the top of the sixth inning on a Ramapo error to take a 7-2 lead. Western Connecticut would hold the Roadrunners in the bottom of the seventh for the win.
Ramapo left 12 runners in scoring position in the game and committed five errors. The Roadrunners tallied ten hits in the game to Western Connecticut's six.
Harley Masiello (0-2) pitched the first 2.2 innings; she gave up five runs (three earned).
Nicole Schneider fired the final 4.1 innings, striking out two. She gave up two runs (none earned). Lima, Saporito and Mikalyla Melendez each collected two hits for the Roadrunners.
In game two, Ramapo came back from being down twice to force extra innings before McDaniel (5-1) was able to score a run in bottom of the ninth inning for a 5-4 victory.
McDaniel was up 1-0 after the first inning of play before the Roadrunners scratched a run across home plate to tie the score at one all. Walling walked to lead off the second inning before advancing to second on a pass ball.
Melissa Moreno then drove her home with a single to left field, 1-1.
Ramapo scored two runs in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Jaclyn Lima beat out an infield hit to second base before she stole second base with one out. Following the second out of the inning, Lima stole third before Melendez was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and third. Melendez then stole second base, avoiding the tag while Lima raced home to beat out the throw. Walling then drove home Melendez with an RBI single to center field.
McDaniel tied the game with two runs in the third inning, 3-3. Back-to-back doubles and an infield ground out plated the first run, while a single to left field scored the second run of the inning and tied the game. McDaniel would take a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning. With two outs Rachel Sidney tripled to center field before Stephanie Maring singled through the infield to pick up the RBI.
Ramapo would come back to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning. Lima hit a slap single to first base, stole second and was sacrificed to third by Saporito's sac bunt. LaPenta then ripped a single up the middle into center field, plating Lima for the game typing run, 4-4. Ramapo held McDaniel in the 7th and 8th innings before McDaniel broke through for a run in the bottom the 9th for a 5-4 win.
Danielle Isenberg started the game for the Roadrunners in the circle. In two innings of work she surrendered three hits and two runs. Masiello came into the game in the third inning and went the final 6.2 innings. She struke out six and walked two while surrendering eight hits.
Lima led the Roadrunnres on offense, she went 2-4 with a walk and two runs scored and five stolen bases.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, March 18th when they take on Utica College at 1pm and Hamilton College at 3pm.
