Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College field hockey team played host to the 
Mavericks of Mercy College today at the Athletic Center posting a 2-0 shut out 
victory to improve to 4-9 overall on the year.  The Mavericks fall to 2-13. 

The Roadrunners got on the scoreboard just over four minutes into the game 
when senior Victoria Ahlers and Katie Bruno paired up off a penalty corner to 
take a 1-0 lead.  The goal was Ahlers' third of the year. Bruno gave Ramapo a 
2-0 edge at 25:25 off an assist from senior Amanda Ferry. The score stood 
until the halftime buzzer where Ramapo held a 9-3 advantage in shots.  
Senior goalkeeper Rebecca Elliott made two saves in the half while Jacque 
Tworkowski made four for the Mavericks. 

In the second half, the game went scoreless.  Elliott made two additional 
saves in the half while Tworkowski blocked five Ramapo shots.  Ramapo out 
shot Mercy 7-4 in the final 35 minutes. 

Ramapo returns to action on Thursday, October 25th when they travel to FDU 
Florham for a 7pm start.
