Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team defeated WestConn in non-conference action, 5-1. The Roadrunners move to 4-11 overall while the Wolves now stand at 6-10 on the season.
Vanesa Dominquez tallied her third goal of the season in the first quarter putting the Wolves on the board for a 1-0 score. Elianna Momm took a pass from
Abigail DeYoung and posted her fourth goal of the season for Ramapo to tie the game at one in the second quarter.
Tessa Pofahl hit the back of the net just over one minute later to put the Roadrunners in the lead for good, 2-1.
Allison Tanasy assisted Pofahl's first goal of the season. In the third,
Ana Plaia scored an unassisted goal before Momm collected her second of the game to push the score, 4-1. To wrap up the Roadrunner scoring for the game,
Kelly Zeman tallied her third goal of the year for a 5-1 score. Plaia earned the assist in the team's final two goals of the game.
Ramapo posted 16 shots on goal and ten penalty corners while WestConn tallied seven shots on goal and six penalty corners.
Sam Fried tallied five saves for Ramapo in the game while Jaden Kilmer collected 11 for the Wolves.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1st when they host William Paterson University in a NJAC game at 4:00 PM. The team will also honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
