Ewing, NJ: The #22-ranked College of New Jersey field hockey team defeated Ramapo College today in NJAC action, 7-0. The Lions improve to 11-4 overall and 5-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners move to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in the league.
The Lions got on the board in the first quarter just 1:41 into the game when Jayden Huff scored the first of her two goals in the game. Huff took a pass from Rachael Tetzlaff before she added her second goal in the second quarter for a 2-0 lead. Mackenzie Hart assisted on the goal before scoring one of her own, this time from Huff before Emma Jordan tallied an unassisted goal for a 4-0 score. TCNJ added two goals in the third and one in the fourth as Kara Wilson, Ali Simmons and Kendal Justus each scored for the Lions, 7-0.
The Lions posted 37 shots including 23 on goal while they recorded seven penalty corners. The Roadrunners recorded one shot in the game and two penalty corners.
Sam Fried posted 12 saves in goal for Ramapo while
Emily Getz collected four saves in the final quarter of action.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 29th when they host WestConn at the Athletic Center at 3:30 PM.
