Jayne Manigrasso and
Katie Bruno led the Ramapo College field hockey team to a 6-1 win today against Mercy College on the campus of Manhattanville College.
Manigrasso and Bruno each tallied two goals for the Roadrunners who improve to 7-4 overall while Mercy dropped to 1-11.
Bruno scored the first goal of the game 26 seconds into the first half as she ripped a shot off a pass from Manigrasso.
Victoria Ahlers scored her fifth goal of the season as she was assisted by
Amanda Barretta (5:46) before Manigrasso tallied her sixth goal of the season on a penalty stroke (6:02).
Bruno got the scoring going for the Roadrunners once again to start the second half as she took a pass from
Nicole Kaspar and hit the back of the cage for her seventh goal of the year (39:46). Barretta recorded her team leading 11th goal of the year 44:36 into the game before Manigrasso scored her seventh goal of the season and second of the game off a pass by
Rachel Seidman to close out the scoring for Ramapo, 6-0 (46:01).
Mercy got on the board with a goal at 57:20 but that is all the Ramapo defense would allow.
Rebecca Elliott tallied 63:49 minutes in the net and recorded four saves while
Alicia Lyons played the final 6:11 for the Roadrunners not having to make a stop.
Ramapo out shot Mercy, 13-8 while they held a 7-5 edge in penalty corners.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday when they travel to NJAC rival Kean University for a 7pm game.
