Mahwah, NJ: The Kean University field hockey team defeated Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center, 1-0. The Cougars improve to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 6-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

Junior Olivia Triano (Keyport, NJ) scored her eighth goal of the season off a pass from senior Amie Hoch (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ) following a penalty corner for the Cougars in the 48th minute of play. Traino posted six shots in the game while Hoch tallied three.

Kean recorded 13 shots to Ramapo's seven in the game while the Cougars had a 21-12 advantage in penalty corners. Senior Lauren Dobbs (Palmyra, NJ) stopped seven shots in the game to preserve the shutout. For Ramapo, sophomore Rebecca Elliott (Brick, NJ) made five saves in the game.

Ramapo returns to action on Saturday when they travel to New Paltz for a 1:00pm game while the Cougars take on NJAC rival the College of New Jersey on Tuesday, October 26th at home at 7:30pm.
