Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team fell to #11 The College of New Jersey today, 4-0 in NJAC action. The Roadrunners fall to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC while the Lions improve to 11-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
The Lions got on the board just 1:58 into the game with a goal from junior Leah Mitchell (Mt. Laurel, NJ) her team leading ninth of the season, she was assisted by junior Alex Okuniewicz (Toms River, NJ). Senior Mary Waller (Bel Air, MD) tallied her first goal of the year in the 16th minute of play to take a 2-0 lead for TCNJ.
Mitchell struck again in the second half, 57:47 into the game off a pass from Waller before junior Kathleen Notos (Pennsauken, NJ) ripped a shot into the back of the net, her eighth of the season at 62:02. The Lions ripped 26 shots in the game to the Roadrunners two. Junior goalie, Shannon Syciarz (Garwood, NJ) tallied two saves in her fifth shutout of the season.
Ramapo returns to action when they host University of Scranton on Thursday, October 14th at 4:00 PM.
