Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team swept a non-conference double header from the College of Staten Island today at the Athletic Center, 7-2 and 9-0. The Roadrunners improve to 16-2 overall while the Dolphins fall to 5-12.
In the first inning of game one junior
Kelly Schriber (Montclair, NJ) ripped a double to center field before rookie
Brittney McKeon (Toms River, NJ) reached on an error to put runners at the corners. Rookie Ashley O'Rourke (Pequannock, NJ) grounded out to second base to plate Schriber for Ramapo's first run of the game. Pinch hitter rookie
Stephanie Malgeri (Montville, NJ) ripped a single up the middle to pick up an RBI to put the Roadrunners ahead, 2-0.
In the third inning junior
Marilee Farmer (Toms River, NJ) ripped a single to center field to score sophomore
Katie Donnelly (North Haldeon, NJ) and rookie
Rachel Wong(Livingston, NJ) who reached on a single and error respectively. Farmer later scored on a fielder's choice by McKeon. Ramapo added one in the sixth when Donnelly reached on a bunt single and the throw from the Dolphin catcher sailed into right field allowing Donnelly to score.
The Dolphins got on the board in the sixth inning when Carmella Lubrano (Staten Island, NY) hit a double to right-center field and Joanna Tepedino (Staten Island, NY) ripped a pitch over the right-center field fence to close the gap, 7-2. The Ramapo defense held the Dolphins the rest of the game and
Kristina Jimenez (West Milford, NJ) picked up her first win of the season striking out four while only allowing three hits. Senior
Heather Camb (Totowa, NJ) started the fifth inning striking out one in 1.1 innings of work before senior
Katie Norton (Livingston, NJ) would come in relief of Camb to close out the game with one strikeout in 1.2 innings of work.
The Roadrunners got on the board early in game two when Schriber parked a two run home run over the leftfield fence, scoring Farmer who reached on a double in the second inning. Rookie

Jamie Chalkley (West Milford, NJ) came around to score on Wong's single to left field later in the inning.
Ramapo scored four runs in the third inning when junior
Amanda Sansevere (Hazlet, NJ) ripped a double to center field plating Schriber who walked earlier in the inning. Chalkley smacked a RBI triple to right center field plating Sansevere and McKeon who reached on a single. Donnelly then scored Chalkley with a single to right field to pick up the RBI. Senior
Tara Eagel (Ocean Twp., NJ) ripped a single to leftfield to plate rookie
Vanessa Vergara (Paterson, NJ) who reached on a single to right center field earlier in the inning.
The pitching staff combined for a no-hitter over five innings of work. Norton started the game striking out three over two innings of work while rookie
Lyndsay Buehler (River Vale, NJ) struck out two over two innings of work and rookie
Deanna Giordano (Clifton, NJ) closed out the game with one strikeout in the final inning. Buehler picks up the win improving to 4-0 on the season.
Donnelly was 4-7 on the day with two runs scored and one RBI, McKeon was 3-5 with two runs scored and one RBI. Schriber and Farmer each went 2-3 with two RBI and three run scored and two runs scored respectively
