Mahwah, NJ: Rookie Rebecca Penhaker (Wantage, NJ) recorded the game winning goal at 45:49 in the second half to propel the Roadrunners to a 3-1 victory over Manhattanville College. The goal was her fourth of the year.

The Roadrunners now stand at 4-8 overall while the Valiants drop to 5-7.

The Valiants struck first with a goal in the first half when senior Lauren Pettoruto (Windham, NH) hit the back of the net at 25:02 she was assisted by sophomore Jen Ascencio (Monroe, NY) and senior Abbe Grimes (Hamden, CT).

The Roadrunners were able to tie the game on an extended penalty corner to close out the first half. Sophomore Amanda Mavrakes (Wayne, NJ) slipped a shot into the net off a pass from rookie Jayne Manigrasso (Atlantic Highlands, NJ).

Ramapo held a 9-3 edge in penalty corners while both teams recorded seven shots in the first half.

Senior Sara Weimer (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) scored her team leading 10th goal of the year at 65:11 into the game, off a pass from sophomore Kimberly Raimondi (Ridgewood, NJ).

Ramapo out shot Manhattanville in the game 15-12 while earning 13 penalty corners.

Junior goal keeper Megan Tierney (Wayne, NJ) posted eight saves, four in each half for the Roadrunners in the victory.

The Roadrunners return to action when they host Saint Joseph's College of Maine on October 18th at 1:00 PM.
