Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team wrapped up their 2007 NJAC season today with a 1-0 loss to the Pioneers of William Paterson. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 6-11 overall, 1-5 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. William Paterson improves to 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the conference. Both teams have one scheduled non-conference game remaining before wrapping up the 2007 season.
Sophomore Amber Scott (Palmyra, NJ) snuck the ball past the Ramapo defenders earning a break away up the middle of the field. She ripped a shot which was blocked by
Megan Tierney (Wayne, NJ) but stayed with it ripping a second shot, hitting the back of the cage at 21:56 giving the Pioneers a 1-0 edge. The score held to the end of the first half heading into the intermission one goal up on Ramapo. Tierney blocked five shots in the first 35 minutes to Christina Auger's (Wayne, NJ) two. The Pioneers out-shot Ramapo 7-4 in the half.
In the final 35 minutes of play, each goalkeeper posted one more save stopping each team's offensive drive holding a 1-0 final. Ramapo finished with seven total shots while the Pioneers ripped eight in the game.

The Roadrunners play their final regular season game on Sunday, November 4th when they travel to St. Joseph's (ME) for an 11:00 AM start. The Pioneers wrap up the 2007 season on November 1st when they host SUNY New Paltz at 7:00 PM.
