Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team hosted Kean University today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners fell to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC as the Cougars improve to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC. The Roadrunners return to action as they travel to DeSales University on October 4th for a 4:30 start.
The Roadrunners got on the board early in the first half as
Devin Flynn (Mullica Hill, NJ) ripped a shot to put Ramapo up 1-0. The Cougars ripped six shots as the Roadrunners had five. Kean University goalie Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights, NJ) had three saves and Jenna Fenninello (Clark, NJ) had two for Ramapo in the first half.
Kean got on the score board in the second half as Vicki Egerer (Washington, NJ) scored to tie the game in the 32nd minute while Brittany Gibbs (West Deptford, NJ) later ripped a shot to put the Cougars ahead 2-1. Kean out shot Ramapo 13-7 in the game.
Barry had three saves for the game and Gibbs took seven shots, four being on goal for the Cougars. Ramapo's
Ashley Zimmerman (North Plainfield, NJ) took three shots and had two on goal and Flynn took two shots both which were on goal.
