THREE ROADRUNNERS SCORE IN ROUTE TO 3-1 VICTORY OVER MANHATTANVILLE

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team saw goals from three different Roadrunners today in a 3-1 non-conference victory over Manhattanville College. Ramapo improves to 3-1 overall entering Saturday's match-up with William Smith College away at 11:00 AM. Manhattanville falls to 0-4 overall.

The game remained scoreless until the 22nd minute when sophomore midfielder Kelly Nolan (Spring Lake Heights, NJ) dribbled up the middle and ripped a shot passed sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Gagno (Staffordville, CT) to take a 1-0 lead.

Manhattanville posted four first half shots but was unable to capitalize with Ramapo's Jenna Feminello (Clark, NJ) shutting the Valiants down with three saves. The Roadrunners took two shots in the first 35 minutes and Gagno posted one save.

In the last 35 minutes of play, sophomore Ashley Zimmerman (North Plainfield, NJ) pushed a ball to junior defender Amanda Wichnick (Middletown, NJ) at 43:30 to take a 2-0 lead before Sara Weimer (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) connected with Zimmerman grabbing a goal of her own just under seven minutes later. The Valiants closed the gap and scored their lone goal at 58:32 credited to Kirsten Spelman (Brooklyn, NY).

Feminello blocked five second half shots to hold onto the 3-1 victory. Gagno blocked three shots for four total saves in the loss.
