Schenectady, NY: The Union College field hockey team defeated Ramapo College tonight in non-conference action, 10-1.
Union (4-3 overall) scored the first three goals of the game, two coming off the stick of Maddie Greco and the third from Ellie Innes before Ramapo (1-4 overall) got on the board.
Victoria Chavez tallied an unassisted goal for the Roadrunners in the 10th minute of action (9:31). Union added two more goals in the second quarter to take a 5-1 lead into halftime. The Garnet Chargers added three goals in the third and two in the fourth to extend their lead, 10-1. Greco, Reese Fendelet, Lily Durivage, Katie Radzik and Innes all scored for Union in the second half. Union held a 23-2 advantage in shots on goal while they collected seven penalty corners. Ramapo recorded five penalty corners in the game.
Emily Getz posted 10 saves in goal for Ramapo in just over 44 minutes of action while
Sam Fried finished on the final 15:53 of the game with three saves of her own.
The Roadrunners return to action Saturday, Sept. 20th when they travel to Gwynedd Mercy University in non-conference action at 12:00 PM.
