SUERO WINS 400M AT RAMAPO INVITATIONAL

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's outdoor track and field team competed in day two of the Ramapo Invitational hosted by the Roadrunner at the Athletic Center and North Field.

Matthew Suero won the 400m hurdles as he clocked in at 55.94 which is now seventh all-time at Ramapo. Colin Unis placed fifth overall in 58.57 seconds while Lindell Mejia posted a time of 59.19 seconds to finish in sixth. The 4x800 relay team won the event with a combined time of 8:03.49. The team was made up of Michael Mohr, Julian Mignone, George Losche, and Ryan Pena.

Brandon Balcacer finished in third place in the 100m dash finals with a time of 10.97 seconds. His time in the prelims was 10.93 seconds which is 10th all-time at Ramapo. JC Mendoza finished in sixth place in the 100m finals with a time of 11.18 while he ran 11.12 in the prelims. In the 200m, the Roadrunners had two finish in the top 10. Terrell Lockett placed third in 22.24 seconds to tie the #9 fastest time in program history. Logan Natale finished in fourth place as he clocked in at 22.38 seconds. Mohr clocked in at 4:10.90 in the 1,500m race for a fourth-place finish while the Roadrunners had three finish in the top 10 in the 5k. Pena placed second overall with a time of 15:08.30 which is now 6th all-time at Ramapo. Mignone finished fifth with a time of 15:48.42 while Mohamed Nidaazzi clocked in at 15:49.57 for a seventh-place finish.

The 4x100 relay team made up of Anthony Gentile, Terrell Lockett, Natale, Mark Shinkorenko, placed second overall with a combined time of 42.60 seconds. The same four finished second in the 4x400 relay with a combined time of 3:19.54.

In the field events, Kevin Ortiz posted a mark of 6.26m in the long jump to finish 10th. In the shot put, Braden Holm finished fifth overall with a mark of 14.30m while Alexander Riba placed 10th in 11.91m. In the hammer throw, Sebastian Pross grabbed a third-place finish with a mark of 51.71m and Hold finished fifth overall in 48.68m.

Ramapo will return to action at the Metropolitan Championships at Icahn Stadium on Friday, April 4th beginning at 9am.
