New Paltz, NY: The SUNY New Paltz field hockey team scored five unanswered goals to defeat Ramapo College this afternoon, 5-1. The Hawks improve to 13-4 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-14 on the year.
Allison Tanasy got the Roadrunners on the board first in the game with a quick goal in the fourth minute of action. The Roadrunners led 1-0 until the Hawks scored a goal to tie the game in the seventh minute. Miranda Britton tallied her 17th goal of the season off a pass from Rachel Tama. Tama then put the Hawks in the lead in the second quarter with a goal in the 24th minute as Britton assisted. Britton and Hannah Ackerman then scored back-to-back goals for a 4-1 lead heading into halftime. Ashley McGouh posted her 10th goal of the year in the third quarter as Ackerman assisted.
The Hawks outshot Ramapo 18-5 in the game while all five of Ramapo's shots were on goal. New Paltz also posted 16 penalty corners to Ramapo's one.

Juliana Mikulski (1) and
Savannah Davis (1) each posted defensive saves in the game for the Roadrunners.
Michelle Kukan tallied nine saves in goal for Ramapo while Madison Orsini collected three in goal for New Paltz in the first 30 minutes of action. Gail Comiskey posted one save in the final 30 minutes for the Hawks.
The Roadrunners wrap up the season on the road at William Paterson University on Saturday, November 2nd at 12 PM.
