TRAORE & DWAH SET NEW SCHOOL RECORDS AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Traore advances to the finals in the 100m dash

Pittsford, NY:  Senior Cheickna Traore and sophomore Gbarper Dwah each broke their own school record in the 100m dash today at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
 
Traore advanced to the 100m dash finals as he won heat one with a new school record time of 10.31 seconds in the prelims. Traore posted the second fastest time of the prelims while six of the eight athletes moving onto the final tomorrow all ran under the previous facility record. His time is also 10th all-time in NCAA D3.
 
Dwah finished fourth in heat one of the 100m prelims and tenth overall; just missing the cut for tomorrow's finals. The winner of each heat and the next five fastest times qualified for the finals on Saturday afternoon. Dwah, who has qualified for three straight NCAA Championships, sets a new school record with a time of  11.94 breaking her own school record.
 
Traore will move onto the NCAA Championships final day on Saturday afternoon. He will run in the 100m final at 2:30pm and the 200m final at 3:40pm. Traore holds the NCAA Outdoor D3 record in the 200m dash which he set earlier this season in 20.49 seconds.
