Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College outdoor track and field team hosted the Ramapo College Track & Field Invitational. The Roadrunners finished in first place in the team results and tallied 103 points in the two-day meet.
Samuel Thomas won the 100m dash in 11.01 seconds while
Wander Dilone clocked in at 11.02 seconds to grab second place.
Darnel Romain finished fourth in 11.24 seconds while
Kevin Ortiz posted a time of 11.36 seconds. Benjamin Zelasco posted a personal best in the 110 hurdles in 16.29 seconds while
Jaycen Peterson placed fifth in the 400m dash with a personal best time of 50.22 seconds.
Andrew Bermudez also grabbed a personal best finish in the 400m in 53.50 seconds.
Sebastian Herrera finished second in the 1500 race with a time of 4:03.83 while
Julian Mignone crossed the line with a personal best time of 4:06.54. Matthew Reed posted a time of 16:04.86 in the 5k for an 11th place finish. The Roadrunners went 1-2 in the 400m high hurdles as
Robert Cassavell posted a winning time of 55.61 seconds while
Colin Unis finished in 58.19 seconds for a second-place finish. The 4x800m relay team made up of
Ryan Pena,
Sebastian Herrera,
Julian Mignone and
Shyami Craig finished first overall in 8:10.94. The 4x400m relay team also grabbed a first-place finish when they posted a combined time of 3:31.34. The team was made up of
Jorge Gomez Garza,
Alexander Jimenez,
Jaycen Peterson and
Anthony Gentile. In the hammer throw,
Braden Holm posted a mark of 44.38m and finished in seventh place.
Nick Palmadesso placed third in the javelin with a mark of 51.18m while
Alexander Jimenez finished in sixth place with a mark of 46.86m. Zelasco and
Massimo Balestrieri each finished in sixth place in the pole vault when they cleared 2.90m. Holm also posted a mark of 12.53m in the shot put.
The Roadrunners return to action at the MET Outdoor Track & Field Championships on April 3rd at Ichan Stadium.
