Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team posted a 4-0 win in their home opener this afternoon over Lasell College in non-conference action. The Roadrunners move to 1-1 overall while the Lasers also move to 1-1 on the year.
Ramapo scored two goals in the first quarter for a quick 2-0 lead.
Maggie Farrell posted a goal in the 7th minute off a pass from
Clare Nugent and
Victoria Docherty.
Victoria Chavez scored her first goal of the year in the 10th minute of action while Farrell and Nugent assisted. In the first two quarters, Ramapo held a 15-3 advantage in shots over Lasell.
Docherty scored back-to-back goals for Ramapo in the second quarter, the second being assisted by M. Farrell and
Mariah Tovar. The Roadrunners led 4-0 heading into halftime. The team posted ten shots in the third and fourth quarters while they held a 23-4 advantage in shots on goal in the game.
Michelle Kukan started in goal for Ramapo and played the first 30 minutes while
Erika Roura started the third and fourth quarters. Kukan posted two saves in the game while Roura collected one save.
The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, September 5th when they host Albertus Magnus College in non-conference action at 12pm.
