London, CT: The Ramapo College field hockey team earned a 2-1 win on the road over non-conference rival Connecticut College. The Roadrunners improve to 6-2 overall while the Camels now stand at 2-4 on the year.
Chloe Heller scored her first goal of the season to put Ramapo on the board in the first quarter in the 10th minute (9:27) of action.
Mariah Tovar pushed the Roadrunner lead in the second quarter with her third goal of the season in the 29th minute (28:24), which ended up being the game-winner. Connecticut scored a late goal in the fourth quarter (51:03) when Abby Ragland took a pass from Chloe Therrien to cut the Roadrunner lead in half.
The Roadrunner defense held the Camels without a shot in the final eight minutes of play to hold onto the 2-1 road win. Connecticut held a slight 18-12 lead in shots while Ramapo had ten of theirs in the first two quarters.
Michelle Kukan posted seven saves for the Roadrunners in the win.
Ramapo will travel to Wilkes University on Wednesday, September 28th for one of their final non-conference games of the season. The game is slated to begin at 7pm.
