Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College softball team has earned an at large bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Softball Championship Tournament and will be heading to Ithaca, New York this weekend making their second straight appearance in the national tournament. 

After finishing the regular season standing in 3rd place of the New Jersey Athletic Conference and wrapping up tournament play standing at 25-13 overall, the Roadrunners jumped up to #3 in the NCAA East Region rankings after making their fourth straight appearance in the NJAC Championship Tournament.
 
Ramapo is one of 62 teams that will compete in the Division III Softball Championship where regional rounds begin Friday.  The Roadrunners, an at-large selection, will take on Manhattanville (24-14), the winner of the MAC Freedom Conference at Kostrinsky Field on the Ithaca College campus.
 
All rounds of the tournament are double elimination format.  The regional round will be held May 11-13.  Four teams will compete at 14 regional sites and three teams will compete at two regional sites.  The team advancing from each regional will compete in the super regional round May 18 and 19.  The finals, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City All-Sports Association, will be held May 24-29 at USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
 
Forty-two conferences received an automatic qualification (Pool A). One institution was selected from Pool B, which includes independent institutions and institutions from conferences that do not meet the automatic qualification criteria. The 19 remaining teams were selected on an at-large basis from automatic qualifying conferences and the remaining institutions in Pool B. 

NCAA Bracket

#23 Ithaca (28-9) will host the region and take on Bay Path (25-15).  Ithaca earned an automatic bid to the tournament after winning the Liberty League Tournament this past Saturday.  Bay Path was another automatic qualifier coming out of the NECC.
