Box Score Hilton Head, SC: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team wrapped up play in Hilton Head, SC today with a 19-5 victory over Southern Virginia. With the win Ramapo improves to 3-2 overall on the year and heads home to face off with Manhattanville College on Wednesday, March 22nd at home at 3:30pm.
Three Roadrunners led the way with three goals each as
Alyssa Tachon opened the scoring to get Ramapo on the board first under five minutes into the game. Ramapo would go ahead 8-0 before Southern Virginia was able to get one by the Ramapo netminder with 10:42 to play in the half. Down the stretch before the halftime buzzer, Ramapo would out score Southern Virginia, 4-2 to go into the intermission with a 12-3 lead,
Katie Duca scoring the eventual game winning goal with 20:51 on the clock.
In the last 30 minutes of play,
Heidi Pilla would rip a shot past SVU in the opening minute to go ahead by double-digits, 13-3 and the Roadrunners never looked back working to a 19-5 advantage at the final buzzer.
Tachon finished with three goals as
Ava Rinaldi and
Brianna Himpele each contributed three. Duca wrapped up the day with two goals including the game winner and
Colleen Manley and
Molly Warner chipped in two goals apiece as well.
Southern Virginia falls to 2-6 with the loss.
