Box Score Madison, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team was shut out today by the Rangers of Drew University in a non-conference match-up in Madison. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 3-5 overall. The Rangers improve to 8-2.
After a scoreless first half where the Rangers out shot the Roadrunners 14-1, Sarah Charles took a pass from Danielle Waleko to give the Rangers a 1-0 edge at 36:24. Under two minutes later, Jess Johnson put Drew ahead 2-0 on a penalty stroke before Waleko struck for the first time in the game to push her team ahead three goals to none. Charles scored her second of the game off another assist from Waleko at 66:07 to close out the game with a 4-0 shut out over Ramapo.
Ramapo out shot the Rangers 11-8 in the second half while
Rebecca Elliott made six saves in the loss for Ramapo.
The Roadrunners will travel to Rowan University on Saturday, October 6 when they face off with the Profs at 1pm.
