Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Lions of the College of New Jersey, ranked #9 in the country, defeated the Lady Roadrunners 6-0 today in a New Jersey Athletic Conference field hockey match-up in Mahwah. With the shut out victory the Lions improve to 13-2 overall. Ramapo falls to 3-8.
Victoria Martin got the Lions on the board just over four minutes into the game scoring her third goal of the 2012 season. It took under two minutes for TCNJ to hit the back of the cage for the second time after Jillian Nealon connected with Erin Healy posting her first of three straight. Nealon gave the Lions a 3-0 advantage at 11:04 which held until the halftime buzzer, before knocking in another point at 45:31 for a four goal Lion lead. Christy Wham assisted on Nealon's final goal.
Jordan Calderone and Lauren Pigott teamed up at 51:20 before Cortney Natalicchio joined forces with Camile Passucci at 59:35 to put TCNJ up six goals to none.
The Lions held Ramapo to just two shots while posting 23 of their own. Roisin Doughtery was tested just once in front of the cage while
Rebecca Elliott made 11 saves for Ramapo.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, October 18th when they travel to Moravian College for a 4pm match-up.
