29-17 Overall, 14-4 NJAC
The Ramapo College softball team finished the 2010 season with a 29-17 overall record and 14-4 in the NJAC. They finished second overall in the conference earning the #2 seed to the 2010 NJAC Tournament. They also earned the #1 seed in the 2010 ECAC Metro Softball Championships.
The Roadrunners were invited to play in the 2010 NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Panama City Beach, Florida; a tournament played every three years. Ramapo won their opening game against Lynchburg, 5-2 before falling in their next four. Ramapo lost to Emerson, 4-2, #3 Louisiana College, 11-8, Willamette, 7-3 and Emerson, 6-5 in eight innings. The Roadrunners defeated University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 3-2 in their final game at the tournament. Ramapo then traveled to the Rebel Spring games, where they would go 5-1. They defeated Springfield, 10-2 and shutout Anderson (IN), 3-0 before falling to #22 Illinois Wesleyan, 2-1. Ramapo then went on a five game winning streak. They defeated St. Norbert, 3-2, Nazareth 1-0 and University of Wisconsin-River Falls, 2-1 in eight innings before sweeping Farmingdale State at home on April 1st, 9-0 in five innings and 7-2. They split their first NJAC double header of the season with rival Rowan, 1-3 and 4-1 before they were swept by NJAC rival Montclair State, 2-3, 3-4 and non-conference foe the College of Staten Island, 0-1 and 1-2, both eight inning games. They bounced back with a big NJAC sweep over NJAC rival William Paterson, 9-1 in six innings and 6-3 before defeating Hunter, 8-0 in five innings and 5-4 and New Jersey City, 15-0 in five innings and 10-4. Ramapo traveled to Moravian where the Roadrunners were shutout in the double header, 4-0 and 2-0 before they bounced back and won three straight double headers. They defeated conference foes Rutgers-Camden, 8-0, 4-3, Rutgers-Newark, 7-0, 11-1 and non-conference foe, Albright, 2-0 and 2-1.
Ramapo traveled to #7 the College of NJ and split the conference double header, 0-1 and 5-0 before they swept Kean, 5-4 and 1-0 in eight innings on the road. In their final regular season home game of the season, the Roadrunners swept Stockton, 8-0 in five innings and 4-1 to secure the #2 seed in the NJAC Softball Tournament. Ramapo hosted #5 Kean and fell to the Cougars, 2-1 in eight innings before falling to #1 the College of NJ, 4-1 in the double-elimination tournament. The Roadrunners would earn the #1 seed in the 2010 ECAC Metro Softball Championships. They defeated #8 Old Westbury, 3-0 and #5 Rutgers-Camden, 5-1 before falling to Farmingdale State in the quarterfinals, 3-2. Ramapo would have to face Stockton in the loser's bracket final game and fell to the Ospreys 6-4, ending their run and the 2010 season.
Senior
Katie Donnelly (North Haledon, NJ) led the Roadrunners with a .350 batting average as she collected a team high 49 hits on 140 at bats. She scored a team high 31 runs and stole 22 bases on 25 attempts. Sophomore
Danielle Rothenberger (Livingston, NJ) was second on the team with 47 hits on 135 at bats for a .348 average. She scored 20 runs and led the team with 40 RBI while she pounded out 12 doubles, one triple and was tied for first with four home runs. Junior
Rachel Wong (Livingston, NJ) collected 44 hits on 135 at bats for a .326 average while she led the team with 13 doubles. She scored 24 runs while knocking in 22 RBI. Rookie
Ashley Schirripa (Staten Island, NY) tallied 32 hits on 100 at bats while she knocked in 19 RBI and ripped six doubles and four home runs. Sophomore
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) collected 32 hits and posted a .311 average while she knocked in 12 RBI and scored 12 runs. Rookie
Amanda Kent (Sparta, NJ) belted out four home runs, nine doubles and one triple while batting .295, she also scored 20 runs and knocked in 20 RBI while junior
Stephanie Malgeri (Montville, NJ) tallied 34 hits, scored ten runs and ripped five doubles and one home run while knocking in ten RBI. She also tallied 270 putouts and 14 assists. Junior
Lyndsay Buehler (River Vale, NJ) recorded a team high 146 strikeouts and only 33 walks in 139.0 innings pitched. She made 21 appearances on the mound while starting 19 games and recording 17 complete game and three shutouts with a 1.21 ERA and a 15-5 overall record, which included one no-hitter, 3-0 against Anderson (IN). Deanna Giordano (Clifton, NJ) struck out 124 while only walking 22 in 142.2 innings pitched. She made 24 appearances on the mound while starting 23 and recorded 21 complete games with eight shutouts. She posted a 12-9 overall record with a 1.32 ERA. Sophomore
Lauren Shaw (Wayne, NJ) posted a 1-2 overall record while she pitched a perfect game against Hunter, 8-0 five-inning game. She made three appearances for 18.0 innings of work as she struck out five. Rookie
Brittany Musolino (South Plainfield, NJ) made three appearances and one game started for 10.2 innings of work. She posted 15 strikeouts with a 1-1 overall record and a 0.66 ERA.
