Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team defeated the Rams from Farmingdale State University in non-conference action today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 9-5 while the Rams drop to 12-8 overall.

Rachel Wong (Livingston, NJ) drilled a double to left center field to put Ramapo in the lead. With two outs in the bottom of the second inning Kent ripped her first collegiate home run, a three-run home run over the left field wall, scoring sophomore
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) and junior
Jaclyn Giangrande (Belleville, NJ) who doubled and walked earlier in the inning. Ramapo added five runs in the third inning to go up 9-0, highlighted by with bases loaded singles from senior

Ramapo pounded out ten hits in the game while junior
Deanna Giordano (Clifton, NJ) held the Rams to four hits over five innings of work as she struck out three. Kent was a perfect 3-3 with two runs scored and four RBI while Wong was 2-3 with three RBI.
In game two Ramapo took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning when Wong ripped a two out double to left field plating Fischer and pinch runner Giangrande. They tacked on a run in the fifth inning when Giangrande doubled down the left field line scoring sophomore
Danielle Rothenberger (Livingston, NJ) who was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
The Roadrunner scored four runs on four hits to take a 7-0 lead in the sixth inning. Rookie
Deanna Russomanno (Cranford, NJ) singled to right field to lead off the inning before she was sacrificed to second before Wong ripped a double to center field. Rothenberger then traded places with Wong as she ripped a double to center field before rookie
Ashley Schirripa (Staten Island, NY) walked and Giangrande singled down the left field line plating Rothenberger. Schirripa then scored later in the inning on a wild pitch to take a 7-0 lead into the seventh inning.
The Rams got on the board when Nicole Farber singled to lead off the inning before Aubrey Walker cracked her ninth home run of the season over the right center field wall with no outs in the inning. After an infield single, junior
Lyndsay Buehler (River Vale, NJ) induced a strikeout before recording two straight fly outs to end the inning.
Buehler struck out six in the complete game while surrendering six hits to pick up her fifth win of the season. Wong was 3-4 with one run scored and three RBI while Giangrande was a perfect 2-2 from the plate, scoring one run and knocking in two.
The Roadrunners open up NJAC play on Saturday when they travel to Rowan University for a 1:00 PM double header.
