ALLEN EARNS 300TH VICTORY IN 5-1 WIN OVER ANDERSON

Kissimmee, FL: Head coach Ben Allen recorded his 300th victory of his career when the Roadrunners came back to defeat Anderson University (6-2), 5-1 and defeated Wisconsin-Stout (10-8), 9-1 in six innings. Allen now stands at 301-121 in his coaching career. The Roadrunners completed the Rebel Spring Games with a perfect 10-0 record.

In game one, Anderson University scored in the bottom of the first inning when Julia Siefring ripped a solo home run with two outs to put the Raven's up 1-0.

Ramapo would answer back in the top of the 5th inning scoring four runs on three hits and one Anderson error. Sophomore Stephanie Malgeri (Montville, NJ) walked to lead off the inning before pinch hitter Brittany Morgan (Colonia, NJ) ripped a single to left field and junior Katie Donnelly (North Haledon, NJ) reached on an error to load the bases. One batter later sophomore Rachel Wong (Livingston, NJ) ripped a double to left center field plating junior Jamie Chalkley (West Milford, NJ) and Donnelly, Chalkley re-entered the game following Morgan's hit. Pinch runner Laura Herget (Paramus, NJ) came home on a illegal pitch by Raven pitcher Jessica Alsman before senior Marilee Farmer (Toms River, NJ) ripped a single to center field to plate Wong for the fourth run of the game.

Wong gave Ramapo a 5-1 lead when she ripped a solo home run over the right field fence in the top of the 7th inning. Sophomore pitcher Deanna Giordano (Clifton, NJ) recorded the final two outs of the game on strike outs to pick up her fifth win of the season. She recorded four strike outs without surrendering a walk and only gave up two hits.

Wong finished the game 3-4 with two runs scored and three RBI while Farmer was 3-4 with with one RBI.

In game two, Ramapo took a 3-0 lead after the first inning of play. Donnelly ripped a single to left field before stealing second base and advanced to third on a pass ball before Wong grounded out to the second base to pick up the RBI. Senior Kelly Schriber (Monclair, NJ) ripped a two-run home run over the right center field fence to plate junior Jen Vitorino (Old Bridge, NJ) who reached on a walk earlier in the inning.

The Roadrunners scored five runs on four hits to take a 8-0 lead going into the third inning. Chalkley ripped a single to right center field before Donnelly doubled to left field to pick up an RBI and advanced to third on the throw to the plate. Vitorino scored Donnelly on a sacrifice fly to left field before Wong reached on an error and Schriber walked. Farmer stepped to the plate and singled up the middle to score Wong before rookie Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) recorded an infield single and sophomore Brittney McKeon (Toms River, NJ) would draw a bases loaded walk to plate the fourth run of the inning. Pinch runner rookie Brittany Spiegel (Stewartsville, NJ) scored on a pass ball to make it 8-0 Ramapo.

In the top of the fourth inning, Wisconsin-Stout plated a run in the top of the fourth inning when Jessica Grobe reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch.

In the bottom of the sixth inning Donnelly reached base on a bunt single and moved up to third on back to back ground outs before scoring on a pass ball to plate the ninth run of the game.

Sophomore pitcher Lyndsay Buehler (River Vale, NJ) picked up the win to improve to 5-0 on the season, she surrendered only one hit and struck out seven over four innings of work. Rookie Lauren Shaw (Wayne, NJ) pitched the final two innings, striking out three and walking none and giving up only one run.

Donnelly went 3-4 with three runs scored and one RBI while Schriber was 1-1 with two runs scored and two RBI.

The Roadrunners will play on the road against Albright College on Wednesday starting at 3:00 PM
