Aurora, NY: The Roadrunners posted a 9-0 victory today over the Express of Wells College in a non-conference field hockey match-up to improve to 2-4 overall on the year. Wells falls to 3-3.
Rookie
Rebecca Penhaker (Wantage, NJ) scored three goals including what turned out to be the game winner in the team's second win of the 2008 season. The goals were Penhaker's first, second, and third of the season and of her collegiate career.
Senior
Sara Weimer (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) and rookie
Jayne Manigrasso (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) posted two goals each while
Christine Lafferty (Sewell, NJ) and
Ashley Zimmerman (North Plainfield, NJ) each netted one of their own.
The Roadrunners led 5-0 at the intermission with junior
Megan Tierney (Wayne, NJ) making one save in the half. Rookie
Kristine Adams (Pemberton, NJ) saw some time in front of the cage but was untested.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, September 23 when they travel to Adelphi for a 4:00 PM non-conference game.
