Salisbury, MD: The Ramapo College softball team is heading to the Division III World Series in Raleigh, North Carolina next weekend after defeating the #4 seed Moravian College today, 6-5 at Salisbury University. Ramapo improves to 36-11 on the year. The trip to the World Series is the college's first ever. Ramapo will face NJAC conference rival Rutgers Camden in the opening game on Friday, May 19th at 11:00 AM.
Lauren Cascino (New Windsor, NY) ripped her 8th homerun of the year in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead over the Greyhounds. Senior outfielder
Andrea Pastiglione (Southern California, CA) ripped a homerun of her own to lead off the 3rd inning taking a 2-0 Ramapo lead. The Roadrunners continued to tack on the runs in the 3rd with four more on five hits to take a 6-0 lead after three complete. Designated player

Lisa Rizzo () followed with a double, and Cascino doubled down the left field line driving in two. Junior shortstop
Michele Rossi (Emerson, NJ) rippped a double to drive in Cascino and sophomore right fielder
Amanda Jones (Rutherford, NJ) posted a RBI single of her own bringing in Rossi to grab a 6-0 edge.
Moravian closed the gap, 6-3 with three runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning when Justina Black (Orefield, PA) doubled down the right field line driving in Lauren Homa (Chalfort, PA) and Beth Paly (Whitehall, PA) who singled and reached on a fielder's choice earlier in the inning to get on base. Black scored on a RBI single by Kelly Santry (Hatboro, PA) to end the inning just three runs behind Ramapo.
Richelle McWilliams (Riegelsville, PA) tacked on a fourth run for the Greyhounds in the top of the 6th with a solo homerun over the centerfield wall and Megan Ritchey (Boyertown, PA) gave Ramapo a scare in the 7th crossing home plate to come within one. But with two outs and runners on first and second, Jones made the final catch holding onto a 6-5 final for Ramapo.
Ramapo's
Marissa Marino (Wayne, NJ) and
Katie Norton (Livingston, NJ) combined efforts on the mound posting five strikeouts and no walks letting up nine total hits. Norton gets the win after pitching the final three and one-third innings to improve to 13-4.
