Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team earned its third straight victory with a 2-1 non-conference win over the University of St. Thomas (TX) tonight at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Roadrunners improve to 5-2-1 overall while the Celts move to 2-3-1 on the year.
Following a scoreless first half, the Roadrunners broke through just under three minutes into the second.
Dino Radoncic put Ramapo on the board in the 48th minute (47:58) off an assist from
Dylan Biernacki for a 1-0 lead. The goal was Radoncic's team-leading sixth of the season, while Biernacki recorded his third assist. St. Thomas answered less than three minutes later when Brian Garcia scored at 50:41 to even the game, 1-1. Ramapo quickly regained the lead as
Dylan Perez found the back of the net in the 57th minute (56:50), putting the Roadrunners back in front, 2-1. The Ramapo defense held the Celts off the board over the final 33 minutes to secure the victory.Â
Ramapo held a 14-12 advantage in shots, including 7-5 in shots on goal. The Roadrunners recorded three corner kicks to St. Thomas' two.
Zachary Natt played all 90 minutes in goal for Ramapo, collecting four saves in the victory. Max Rodriguez posted five saves for the Celts.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 30 when they open NJAC play against Kean University at 7:00pm.Â
