Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team posted a 9-0 non-conference victory over Saint Elizabeth University this afternoon at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 4-2-1 overall while the Eagles move to 1-4-1 on the year.
Ramapo broke through in the 32nd minute when
Dino Radoncic scored off an assist from
David Oh for a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later,
Ryan Fernandez found the back of the net for his first goal of the season to extend the lead, 2-0. Radoncic added his second goal of the game just before halftime, as
Dylan Perez assisted to give the Roadrunners a 3-0 lead at halftime.
The Roadrunners added six goals in the second half as
Dylan Biernacki scored twice while
Leo Mandile,
Vincent Candela,
Rohan Yannam and
Jorge Espinosa, Jr. each added a goal. Biernacki also collected an assist while Espinosa, Jr. finished with two assists.
Ramapo controlled the offensive attack with a 22-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Roadrunners also recorded 13 corner kicks while holding Saint Elizabeth without a corner.
Axel Da Silva made two saves in goal to earn the shutout victory.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, Sept. 25 when they host the University of St. Thomas (Texas) in a non-conference match at 7:00pm at the Athletic Center. Ramapo will give the first 50 RCNJ students with ID a free t-shirt.
