Newark, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team extended their win streak to 14 games this afternoon with a sweep over host Rutgers-Newark University (3-19, 0-8 NJAC). The Roadrunners (24-3, 8-0 NJAC) won game one 16-1 in five innings and game two 14-4 also in five innings.

Gabby Morgan (8-1) spun a one-hitter as she struck out five and walked two.
Lia Milsom got the Roadrunners on the board with an RBI double to plate
Emily Ehrmann in the top of the second inning. The Scarlet Raiders tied the game in the bottom of the inning before the Roadrunners scored four runs in the third inning.
Paley Sullivan gave Ramapo a 2-1 lead with an RBI double to score
Hannah Hensler before Ehrmann drove in Sullivan with an RBI single, 3-1. Ehrmann later scored on a pass ball before Clay'le Correa-Vanness put down a bunt single which allowed
Madison Groschel-Klein to score, 5-1. Ramapo added eight runs in the fourth and three in the fifth for the 16-1 victory. The fourth inning was highlighted by an RBI triple from Sullivan and a two RBI double from
Alex Hastings. In the fifth inning,
Elianna Meola drove in
Niah Murphy with a sac fly to center field as Murphy singled to center field earlier in the inning. Sullivan drove in two more RBI with a double to center field as
Sonali Rodriguez and Emily Peitrzykowski each scored.
Game #2: Ramapo 14, Rutgers-Newark 4
Ramapo scored two runs in the first inning including a sac fly from Hastings to give Ramapo a 2-0 lead. Rutgers-Newark scored their first run in the bottom of the first inning on a Ramapo error before the Roadrunners took a 5-1 lead in the second.
Angelina Ciesnicki and Milsom each singled with one out before an error loaded the bases.
Kori Gargiulo lifted a sac fly to center field to plate Ciesnicki, 3-1. Hensler then plated Milsom and Correa-Vanness with a double for a 5-1 score. Gargiulo drove in two runs in the third inning with a hard-hit single to right field before Correa-Vanness scored on a passed ball, 10-1. The Scarlet Raiders added two runs in the bottom of the third before Ramapo posted four in the fifth inning for a 14-2 lead. The final run for Rutgers-Newark came in the bottom fifth inning as Ramapo took the game, 14-4.
Brooke Knight (12-1) earned the win in relief as she pitched the final 3.2 innings with eight strikeouts, four walks while surrendering three hits and three runs (two earned).
Mikayla McJilton started the game in the circle with one strikeout, four walks and surrendering two hits and one run.
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 PM as they travel to Stevens Institute of Technology for a non-conference doubleheader.
