Mahwah, NJ: The Baruch College men's volleyball team slipped past Ramapo College tonight at the Bradley Center in a thrilling five-set match, 3-2 (18-25. 26-24, 25-20, 25-27, 15-13). The Bearcats move to 7-6 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 7-9 on the season.
Ramapo took the first set before Baruch came back to take sets two and three. The Roadrunners came back in dramatic fashion in the fourth-set to win, 27-25, before the Bearcats won the fifth set. Both
Jan Tracz and
Amari Menter recorded a career high with 25 and 23 kills respectively while the team nearly hit .280 in the match combined. The Roadrunners tallied 65 kills on 147 attempts with 24 errors for the match. Tracz hit .450 with 25 kills on 40 attempts with just seven errors while adding eight digs, two solo blocks and one assist. Menter hit .340 with 23 kills, 47 attempts and just seven errors and added two assists, one solo block and three digs.
Joseph Duca dished out a career high 50 assists in the match while he added two kills, two aces and eight digs.
Sean McNally posted ten digs to lead the team on defense while contributing with three assists.
Xavier Fabre tallied three kills, two assists, two aces and three blocks (two solo).
Peter Gavroff led the Bearcats with 20 kills as he hit .326 with five errors on 46 attempts. He also posted three aces and 12 digs. Argjend Osmanaj posted 15 kills, one ace and seven digs while Ari Osmanaj dished out a team high 45 assists with two aces, two blocks and six digs. Michael Terolli posted eight digs while Brennan O'Connor contributed with six kills and two solo blocks. The team hit .200 in the match with 50 kills on 120 attempts with 26 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on March 10th when they travel to Bard College for a match at 7:00 PM.
