Clermont, FL:   The Ramapo College softball team won a pair of games today at THE Spring Games. The Roadrunners (4-0) defeated Clarkson 10-1 and Hiram College 11-0, both games played to the five-inning run rule.

Game One: Ramapo 10, Clarkson 1 (Five Innings)
Ramapo took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Avery Kontura laced a double down the left field line which allowed Clay'le Correa–Vanness to come around and score. Correa-Vanness led off the inning with a bunt single. In the top of the second, Paley Sullivan launched her third home run of the year over the left-center field fence, a solo shot to push the score 3-0. Lia Milsom and Correa-Vanness each singled before Kori Gargiulo connected on a three-run home run for a 5-0 lead. In the third, Amiee Notaro worked a lead-off walk, stole second and later scored on a throwing error from the outfield. Milsom laced a single up the middle and stole second. She scored later in the inning on a Clarkson throwing error to extend the lead, 7-0. Notaro picked up an RBI as she poked a single through the left side of the infield which allowed Hannah Hensler to score before Sullivan beat out an infield hit to the shortstop while a throwing error from Clarkson on the play allowed Alex Hastings to score, 9-0. Emily Ehrmann then made it 10-0 in favor of the Roadrunners with an RBI single down the left field line as Notaro came around to score. In the bottom of the fourth, Clarkson scratched one run across on an RBI from Lexi Rydelek.

Ramapo closed out the game in the bottom of the fifth as Elianna Meloa entered the circle in relief of starter Mikayla McJilton. Meola recorded a pop up to the catcher and back-to-back strikeouts to end the game. McJilton (2-0) struck out three, walked one and let up just two hits in the game along with one run. The Roadrunners collected 14 hits in the game including one double and two home runs. Correa-Vanness finished 4-4 at the plate with two runs scored while Milsom finished 3-3 with two runs scored. Game Two: Ramapo 11, Hiram 0 (Five Innings)

She led off the bottom of the first inning with a hard hit single up the middle before Gargiulo beat out an infield single of her own. The pair recorded a double steal to move up one base before Hensler bounced into an RBI groundout which allowed Correa-Vanness to score, 1-0. The Roadrunners added six runs in the bottom of the second inning for a 7-0 lead. The inning was highlighted by Hensler's two-RBI single to center field which plated the final two runs of the inning. In the third inning, Lia Milsom singled, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error from Hiram before the throw to attempt to get her out at third sailed wide of the base allowing her to score, 8-0. In the fourth, Avery Kontura led off the inning with a walk, stole second and moved to third on a hard-hit single to left field by pinch-hitter Madison Groschel-Klein.
